State, Nation, and World

”We love you, Father, because You first loved us and sent Your Son to atone for our sins. We stand amazed that Jesus, who by nature had always been God, did not cling to His rights as Your equal…that He laid aside all His privileges, to be born as a human being…that He totally humbled Himself, submitting to the death of a common criminal, enduring that pain. You laid on Him, the compressed weight of all our sin and guilt and shame, of all our griefs and sorrows, and He became sin for all of us, dying the death we deserved. How we praise You that it was impossible for death to hold Him in its power…that You raised Him from the death to be our Savior! To make us righteous in Your sight! “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.”
31 Days of Praise by Ruth Myers.

Dear Father, Please forgive us for all of our sins, the sins we cast onto Your Son. We are the one’s deserving of the punishment that Jesus endured on the Cross. Help us never to take His sacrifice that for granted and to live life knowing that you would do it all again, because You love us that much. We don’t deserve Your unconditional forgiveness. You knew we would sin again and again, so in Your infinite wisdom You paid, up front, for all of our sin on Good Friday, when you hung on the Cross in our place. Forgive us when we don’t live in the victory You provide for us daily, when You conquered death, so we could live with You.

Heavenly Father, thank you for all that You have given to this great country. Please break the bonds of the Evil One and open the hearts of those who are causing violence so they may realize Your Love. Please let us all work together to bring this United States back to its founding principles. Protect and guide President Trump, Vice President Pence and all of our elected officials. Please help us to be, once again,” one nation, undivided, with liberty and justice for all.” Amen

President Trump put NASA on course for deep space exploration, signing a bill authorizing $19.5 billion to fund the agency’s manned-space flight program and mission to Mars and beyond.

We pray for President Trump as he works with Congress on his Make America Great Again agenda.

Sen. Rand Paul (KY) is drawing the ire of his colleagues by being the lone holdout on a treaty allowing Montenegro to have membership in NATO, calling it not in America’s interest. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) warned that Democrats will not support a healthcare reform bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare).

We pray about the broad tensions in Congress, along party lines, and among allied partisans.

President Trump has made his first nomination to a lower court by naming Amul Thapar to a seat on the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Senate confirmation is required. Hundreds of people affected by 9/11 filed a lawsuit in a federal court in lower Manhattan against Saudi Arabia, seeking monetary damages for the kingdom’s alleged involvement in the attack.

We pray for the president’s court nominees yet to be named, and for the nomination of Judge Gorsuch.

Turkey’s president Erdogan warned Europeans they “will not walk safely in the streets” if they persist in what he calls anti-democratic attitudes regarding Turkey’s upcoming elections. Up to 1,000 U.S. soldiers could join the current 500 officially stationed in Syria ahead of the battle to remove ISIS from its de facto capital in Raqqa, U.S. defense officials said.

We pray about worldwide attitudes toward conflict in the Middle East. Pray for America’s Armed Forces.

As South Sudan’s civil war worsens, thousands of children are being forced to join the fight as soldiers according to UNICEF, and tens of thousands have already been killed.North Korea has warned the Trump Administration that it is “ready for any war” the U.S. might start, and that it has been working on the ability for a preemptive strike.

Lord, We acknowledge that the family is Your idea and marriage is intended to be a lifelong, divinely instituted covenant between one man and one woman. So we pray that Your people would not renegotiate or redefine marriage and the family according to their wants and desires, but rather they would be called to preserve and respect what you have Divinely instituted. We thank you for establishing marriage to be a secure and stable environment for raising children. We pray our government upholds Your definition of marriage, and the Church teaches and speaks out in its support.

Lord, Hand-in-hand with Your gift of marriage comes Your gift of sex. We pray that as a society we would follow Your plan for intimacy inside of the convent of marriage. By following Your plan, it would virtually eliminate rape, prostitution, adultery, sexually transmitted disease, abortions and divorce. We pray we would not be fooled by the enemy into thinking our human nature should rule our lives, but we would see Your laws as loving and keeping us from heartache and disaster. Please raise up Christians to support truth, redemption and repentance in America.

God we pray that you would call this nation together and unite your people to stand for truth.  We pray that those appointed into office would stand to fight for your justice and that it would prevail over evil.  That we would turn away from “Political Correctness” and once again become “Biblically Correct”.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there” — 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (NKJV).

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” — 1 Timothy 2:1-5 (NKJV).
