“Thank You, Father You so loved the world that You gave Your one and only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ…that when the time had fully come, He wrapped Himself in human form, being born as a helpless baby in a poor family. Thank You that He walked here on earth radiating the brightness of Your glory and flawlessly expressing Your nature…and so, through Him, people saw you in action, involved with them, available to meet their needs.” 31 Days of Praise by Ruth Myers.
We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but we are welcomed into the kingdom through Jesus who receives our repentance of sin. Today, we begin our work bearing fruit in keeping with repentance and are sorry for the national sins we have committed in America. Please Father Incline your ear towards the prayers lifted in this place today and heal us individually and our nation.

PRAYER FOR AMERICA
Father God we have many moral and ethical issues happening in our great country. We ask that you walk beside and talk to all those with gender identity issues; for common-sense laws that protect people’s privacy especially in our schools; and for laws that consider the rights of majority Americans. We ask that you intercede for us in providing our nation with honest and ethical behavior from government officials and that you raise up moral and ethical leaders for America. Thank you for watching over us 24/7. We need you! We cherish you! We LOVE you! Set our hearts and footsteps in your direction. In Jesus name we ask all these things. Amen.
PRAY FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION
The Obama Administration secretly airlifted $400 million in cash to Iran in January at the same time Iran was releasing four jailed Americans, an act that some in Congress are questioning as an illegal “ransom.”
The FBI Director said America could expect a “terrorist diaspora” to metastasize out of the Middle East, as Homeland Security Secretary Johnson extended protected status for Syrian refugees in this country.
We pray about the foreign policies of the Administration with respect to Iran and the Syrian refugee crisis.
PRAY FOR OUR CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS
Senator Tim Kaine (Virginia) – also a vice presidential candidate – has called for a re-convening of Congress to pass new Zika legislation. “Congress should not be in recess when Zika is advancing,” he said.
Senator Charles Schumer (New York) called for the House to pass his bill to prevent Olympic medals from being taxed, excepting from tax any endorsements and sponsorships.
We pray for members of Congress as they are in their summer recess, returning after Labor Day.
PRAY FOR OUR JUDICIARY
A spate of federal court rulings against voting restrictions in some states will make it easier for residents to cast ballots in November, but they may lead to chaos in polling locations and encourage fraud, according to some.
A federal appeals court refused to dismiss a corruption indictment against Senator Robert Menendez (New Jersey) rejecting the senator’s claim that the U.S. Constitution protected him from prosecution.
We pray about the decisions of the courts and how they will impact the November presidential and state elections.
PRAY FOR THESE NATIONAL LEADERS IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK
John Koskinen, Commissioner, Internal Revenue Service
Mike Lee, United States Senator from Utah
Judge Charles R. Breyer, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California
Deborah Lee James, Secretary of the Air Force
WARS AND TERRORISM
The Pentagon says it has conducted airstrikes against Islamic State in Libya and will continue doing so in an expansion of its air campaign against the terrorist group. Strikes were at the request of the Libyan government.
Members of ISIS have criticized Pope Francis’ claims that they are motivated by lack of money and resources, saying, “This is a divinely warranted war between the Muslim nation and nations of unbelief.”
We pray that our government will realize that ISIS operates from a religious ideology.
FOREIGN INTERESTS AND CONFLICTS
North Korea launched two ballistic missiles, one of which is believed to have landed in the Sea of Japan, according to the U.S. Strategic Command, and creating new issues of how to respond to Japan’s government.
A Syrian rescue service said a helicopter dropped containers of toxic (probably chlorine) gas on a town close to where a Russian military helicopter had been shot down only hours earlier, affecting more than 33 civilians.
We pray about the wars and rumors of wars, the saber-rattling and outrageous actions by rogue groups and nations.
ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST
Israeli aircraft will fly alongside Pakistani and United Arab Emirates planes in the U.S. Air Force’s Red Flag exercise in the Nevada desert later this month. “Red Flag” is considered the premier air-to-air combat training exercise.
Cairo is fuming over increasing cooperation between the Palestinian terror group Hamas that rules in Gaza, and Islamic State-affiliated forces in the neighboring Sinai Peninsula, elevating tensions between Egypt and Gaza.
We pray for a safe training exercise later this month for U.S. troops, and those from Israel, the UAE and Pakistan.
July U.S. auto sales remained strong as consumers continued to spend on pickup trucks and SUVs, but the two biggest manufacturers in that market failed to hit analysts’ expectations, falling short four percent and more.
The sputtering economic recovery under President Obama has fallen way short of the average recovery and ranks as the worst since the 1930s Great Depression, according to a new Heartland Institute report.
We pray about the lack of consumer confidence, and what it will take to turn around the American economy for all.

MARRIAGE BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN
Lord, we lift marriage up to you and ask for your kindness that this institution will always remain between one man and one woman as you ordained by creating Adam and then Eve. We pray for the protection of our children. Marriage is an essential building block for society. It is the ideal to strive for and we pray it remains intact. May those states that have same-sex marriage be moved to reverse their decisions. May the Church and its people step up and step forward to take a stand for the biblical definition of marriage.
SEX — LIES — LIFE FROM CONCEPTION
Lord, we lift up sexual relations in our nation; may they be respected and not treated as recreation. We pray for those who have been lied to and deceived that contraception is good, while it opens the door for recreational sex. We pray for modesty in our nation and a return to morality and restraint. We are heartsick that the movies, media and television have become pornographic and desensitized to proper boundaries. We are sad they are not accountable, and the Church removed itself from having influence in this arena years ago. Please, Lord, empower Christians with money, ingenuity and courage to return to these areas that broadcast through the airwaves. Please bring truth, redemption and dignity back to America. May we connect sex to marriage and fidelity once again. May men take responsibility for the women they pursue and the children they father. May women be pure, wholesome and demand to be respected. May sexual education be taught by parents; not our schools and media. May we end abortion by choice, defund Planned Parenthood, and choose abstinence until married. The Lord has laid before us life and death; choose life.
SALT AND LIGHT PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (NKJV).
MISSION PRAYER OF SALT AND LIGHT
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:1-5 (NKJV).
