PRAISE

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death. Psalm 68:19-20
Father, we are so delighted You are both loving and sovereign, that You cause all things to work together for good to those who love You, to those who are called according to Your purpose. We praise You that each difficulty is an opportunity to see You work…that in Your time You will bring us out to a place of abundance. We thank you that You use trails to humble us and perfect our faith. We are grateful that You look beyond our superficial desire for a trouble-free life; instead You fulfill our deep-down desire to glorify You, enjoy Your warm fellowship and become more like Your Son.

31 Days of Praise by Ruth Myers.

REPENTANCE PRAYER

Father in Heaven, we come to You to humbly ask for Your forgiveness. We admit that we are weak and have done things that are not pleasing to You. Please forgive us for taking our eyes off You and depending upon our own thoughts and feelings. We are sorry that we resist difficulty instead of seeing it as an opportunity to see You work. Help us to see that momentary trials are producing an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Look upon us with mercy, forgive us and help us cleanse our ways. Fill us with Your words and Holy Spirit take over and nurture in us a heart that habitually relies on Your precious loving kindness.

PRAYER FOR AMERICA

In 1947, the National Security Council was formed because leaders felt that the State Department was unable to handle the growing tensions with the Soviet Union. With the ever-increasing complexity of foreign policy, escalations with North Korea and Iran, the ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan and Syria, and threats from around the globe, the tasks for the council are just as daunting as they were in 1947. Trump depends on the NSC, and the staff that enables it to function, to keep him informed as he continues to pursue American interests around the world.

We pray for wisdom for Trump as he works with the NSC to determine foreign policy. We pray for discernment for all the members of the council as they make decisions to protect the United States and its citizens.

PRAY FOR PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP AND HIS ADMINISTRATION

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders hinted that President Trump might make changes to the Iran nuclear deal soon, adding, “You never want to get ahead of the president.”
President Donald Trump prohibited the acquisition of a U.S.-based semiconductor company by a firm run by the Chinese government, a shift in the U.S. attitude toward foreign deals.

We pray for President Trump as he deals with substantive foreign issues that hold wide-ranging consequences.

PRAY FOR OUR CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS

Senator Deb Fischer of Nebraska said she likes the idea of giving states more authority in building health insurance models as proposed by the Graham-Cassidy legislation before the Senate. Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma and others have introduced legislation that would make houses of worship eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program grants.

We pray that partisan obstructionism in Congress will diminish so that true actions can be taken.

PRAY FOR OUR JUDICIARY

A federal law that makes it a crime to encourage or induce foreigners to enter or stay in the U.S. illegally may run afoul of the First Amendment, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals found. The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the federal government failed to adequately consider greenhouse gas emissions of four large coal leases in Wyoming, a blow to the Trump Administration.

We pray for the judges of the appeals courts as they are the last source of justice before the Supreme Court.

WARS AND TERRORISM

The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces said its campaign to recapture Raqqa from Islamic State is in its final stages and its fighters, made up of Kurdish and Arab militias, have seized 80 percent of the city. NATO said it will take another month to respond to Washington’s demands for alliance allies to send more troops into Afghanistan, even as the U.S. says it will send 3,000 extra troops there.

We pray for America’s troops and their allied forces as they fight against ISIS and the Taliban.

FOREIGN INTERESTS AND CONFLICTS

The Trump Administration is pressing Cuba over recent concerns surrounding unexplained incidents harming American diplomats’ health there, as it considers shuttering the embassy in Havana. Japan has moved a mobile missile defense system to a base near recent North Korean missile flyover routes as a “precaution,” part of government preparations for a possible emergency.

We pray about the actions of nations like Cuba and North Korea and the international response to them.

ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST

The Federal Reserve is widely expected to announce it’s going on the financial equivalent of a diet by trimming down its balance sheet, something it has never done before, but it won’t move quickly. Estimates for the cost of Hurricane Harvey’s damage run as high as $190 billion, making it the costliest disaster in U.S. history; while Hurricane Irma’s numbers at $100 billion are still coming in.

We pray about the costs to the entire U.S. economy of natural disasters like the large hurricanes.

ACROSS THE STATES

Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosello said Hurricane Maria is “the biggest and potentially most catastrophic hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in a century,” having already done extensive damage in the Virgin Islands. Montana Governor Steve Bullock has been exploring with FEMA new ways federal resources can be used to assist strained state fire crews as they persist against wildfires, with some help from recent rain and snow.

We pray about the frustrations from rapidly depleting federal resources used in disaster relief.

THE ECONOMY

The Federal Reserve is widely expected to announce it’s going on the financial equivalent of a diet by trimming down its balance sheet, something it has never done before, but it won’t move quickly. Estimates for the cost of Hurricane Harvey’s damage run as high as $190 billion, making it the costliest disaster in U.S. history; while Hurricane Irma’s numbers at $100 billion are still coming in.

We pray about the costs to the entire U.S. economy of natural disasters like the large hurricanes.

MARRIAGE BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN

Lord, we acknowledge that the family is Your idea and marriage is intended to be a lifelong, divinely instituted covenant between one man and one woman. So we pray that Your people would not renegotiate or redefine marriage and the family according to their wants and desires, but rather they would be called to preserve and respect what you have Divinely instituted. We thank you for establishing marriage to be a secure and stable environment for raising children. We pray our government upholds Your definition of marriage, and the Church teaches and speaks out in its support.

SEX — LIES — LIFE FROM CONCEPTION

Lord, Hand-in-hand with Your gift of marriage comes Your gift of sex. We pray that as a society we would follow Your plan for intimacy inside of the convent of marriage. By following Your plan, it would virtually eliminate rape, prostitution, adultery, sexually transmitted disease, abortions and divorce. We pray we would not be fooled by the enemy into thinking our human nature should rule our lives, but we would see Your laws as loving and keeping us from heartache and disaster. Please raise up Christians to support truth, redemption and repentance in America.

SALT AND LIGHT PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY

God, we pray that you would call this nation together and unite your people to stand for truth.  We pray that those appointed into office would stand to fight for your justice and that it would prevail over evil.  That we would turn away from “Political Correctness” and once again become “Biblically Correct”.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there” — 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (NKJV).

MISSION PRAYER OF SALT AND LIGHT

“Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” — 1 Timothy 2:1-5 (NKJV).
